I wanted to say I was disappointed. I mean he said he'd call me.. didn't he? It was probably his job, I kept forgetting he was famous. But he couldn't have taken one minute out of his busy schedule to call or even text. All said and done, I didn't have much time to even think about Joe. Eva and I had been out and about since the day I got here. One day, she showed me around the estate and which house belonged to which celebrity. The day after, we went to the movies and then swam in her very luxurious pool, and yesterday we went roller skating in an old retro bar. Every day, we would go to the diner in the neighborhood for lunch. Even in these four days, it had become a tradition for us. In every spare moment I got, I would check my phone to see if I had anything from him. On this rare moment I got to myself, I was sat on the couch, waiting for Eva to finish getting ready. I stared at the phone, waiting for him to call. Whenever I thought about him, I got all nervous. But I couldn't bring myself to the thought that I was falling for him. I looked away from my phone, up at the ceiling. Then I got a call. I immediately answered it, not bothering to check the caller ID. 'Joe?' I said. 'Uh, no. It's me! Alex!' he said. Alex was my big brother and I was proud to say, my best friend also. As there was only a one-year-and-a-half age gap between us. We were pretty close. He had always been there for me, through the good and the bad. He was very protective of me. He had help me fend of the obsessive boys and all the bitchy girls. He had kind of stepped into my father figure, as our father, as much as he tried, didn't really have the first clue about teenagers. He was one himself when both of us were born and when our mother disappeared off the face of the earth when Alex was two and I was only a few months old. Despite all this drama, I wouldn't change a thing. Alex was working as an intern for sports magazine in New York, so it was a bit of a surprise to hear from him. Ever since he got an apartment in the city with his long term girlfriend, Scarlett, I didn't see him as much and that disappointed me. He and Scarlett were highschool sweethearts. He was on the football team, she was a cheerleader. According to the obvious sterotypes, Alex should be an obnoxious jock and Scarlett, a back-stabbing bitch. But they were far from it. Scarlett was another of my best friends. Not having a Mom, I had no-one to talk to about girl stuff, so I confided in Scarlett. She knew all my deepest thoughts and secrets. 'OMG ALEX! I miss you soo much!' I almost screamed. 'I miss you too Inds. Dad told me you were in L.A.?' he said almost as if he was asking a question. 'Yeah. I'm in Toluca Lake.' I said. 'You're kidding. Guess where I am?' he said. 'Uh.. New York.' I said stating the obvious. 'No! Toluca Lake!' he said. My mouth hung open. 'No way.' 'It's true. Scarlett's Grandma just died and she lived here so we drove here for the funeral. Do you wanna meet up? Dad told me you were with a friend.' 'Yeah, I am. Remember I told you about her. Her name's Eva. Ring any bells?' 'Oh yeahh. The one you met when that boy lied to you and-' I cut him off. I rolled my eyes. 'Okay, I've had enough of that from Dad.' 'Sorry.' 'Its okay. Well if you wanna meet up.. every day, Eva and I go to the Diner for lunch. We were just about to go now actually.' 'So I'll see you there in ten.' he said. 'Deal.' I replied and hung up. Just then, I realized Eva was standing infront of me. Her sudden presence made me jump. 'Woah. I didn't even notice you come down.' I said. 'Was that Joe on the phone?' she said raising her eyebrows. 'No. It was my brother. I invited him to lunch. Is that okay?' 'Is he cute?' she said. 'Uh.. I don't feel comfortable answering that..' I said, shifting in my seat. 'Just answer.' 'Ughhh.. Well to other people.. I guess he could be.. cute.' 'Well that's all I need to hear. He is very welcome to join us.' she said with a smile, pulling me off the couch and linking her arm with mine. 'He has a girlfriend.' I simply said whilst we walked out of the door. 'Damn. I am so not lucky in love.' she said. I looked at her and shook my head. 'Am I underdressed?' I asked, pointing to my ripped jean shorts and simple shirt and then to her floaty floral dress and heels. 'No, I am just over-dressed.' she said simply. 'Why?' I asked. 'Zac Efron lives here.. duh.' she said, no humor in her voice. She was dead serious. 'He has a girlfriend too Eva.' 'Damn.' she cursed to herself. I couldn't help but laugh as we reached the Diner's entrance. __________ I will be posting another say, an hour after this. Sound good? Please comment on the chapter.

Women and girls who give life to their babies give the greatest gift imaginable, the chance for thier child to live, love, feel, and think as they do--to not be killed at an early age. Peace and love to all those women and girls who are pregnant with an unplanned child. Many feel that having a baby would ruin their dreams, affect their lives for the worse, and change everything they have planned for themselves. But I am here to say that though your life may change, you life will not be destroyed. My mother's life was not destroyed when, at 19 years old, she chose to give birth to me instead of having an abortion as many suggested. They suggested this so that she could start a life free of a physically and verbally abusive relationship, avoid being a single parent, go to college, have a career and get remarried and have children with a man she loved. Though life was not easy for her (whose life is?) she chose to let me continue living. Now I am 20, older than she was when she had me. She is remarried and has just graduated from college (she went back to school to be a teacher). Maybe you will say that this is the extreme case and all women will not eventually be able to fulfill their dreams like she did, but I am here and alive to say that it is possible. This little baby is a gift to you and you are a gift to him or her. Your lives flow together...all you have to decide is whether or not you will cut short that life inside you. To all you girls and women out there who are pregnant, life is not over when you give life to your baby; it's just beginning in a new and different way. Babies heartbeat begins at 18-24 days after conception, fingers and toes can be seen at 5 to 6 weeks.
