this video was made and dedicated for dinaa by her little cousin abbeyy. i love her so much and miss her with all my heart and sole. A 15-year-old girl was hit by a sport utility vehicle and killed late Tuesday as she walked along a road in Shirley, police said. Dina Delia of Shirley was hit by a 1991 Toyota driven by Victor Verga, 62, as he drove eastbound on Patchogue Avenue just east of Floyd Road North at about 10:15 p.m. Police said Verga lives on Patchogue Avenue, not far from the accident scene. Delia was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Verga was not charged. Police said the investigation is continuing and are asking anyone with information to call detectives at 631-852-8752. All calls will remain confidential Dina Delia of Shirley was a full-of-life teenager, a high school student who loved cheerleading and spending time with her many friends. Following Delia's sudden death late Tuesday after she was hit by a sport utility vehicle in Shirley, her mother said yesterday she hoped some good could come from the loss. "I've already agreed that her organs can be donated," said Angela Melville, 46, outside her home. Because Delia was slight, doctors had indicated some of her organs might be suitable for a young child, Melville said. "She was so small. I think she must have had a small heart. Small eyes - she had such pretty eyes," Melville said. Delia, 15, a freshman at William Floyd High School, was walking home alone from her boyfriend's house about 10:15 p.m. when she was struck by a Toyota SUV on Patchogue Avenue, police said. She was pronounced dead on arrival at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center. The driver, Victor Vergara, 62, of Shirley, remained at the scene and was not ticketed. Police said it was unclear why Delia was in the road. The investigation is ongoing, although no criminality is suspected, police said. With the donation of Delia's organs, Melville said, "I'm praying a child will be saved or helped in some way." Delia was the third of six siblings. She attended William Floyd Middle School in Moriches. She ran on the high school's cross country track team and was a member of the cheerleading squad and the kickline-dance team. The high-spirited, social activities suited her well, her oldest sister said. "She had a lot of friends. They went to the movies, had sleepovers - teenager stuff," said Fallon Fee, 25, of Farmingdale. "She was always happy, always great to be around." Yesterday, several of Delia's friends gathered at her home to help prepare memorials for her weekend service. Some left clutching stuffed pigs as keepsakes from her collection. "She loved pigs. She wanted a real pig," Melville said. "I told her she'd have to wait until she had her own place." Plans for a Saturday memorial were being finalized yesterday. Delia's remains are to be cremated, her mother said. Vergara could not be reached yesterday. Suffolk police have requested anyone who saw the accident to call Seventh Squad detectives at 631-852-8752.

The boy's body was transported from the hospital to Restview Memorial on Monday afternoon after two doctors, including a U.S.-certified pathologist, performed the autopsy. (A family doctor for Travolta was also present.) The source confirms to Us that Jett was pronounced dead at 12:14 p.m. on Jan. 2. Check out never-seen pictures the actor has released of his late son, Jett. The Travolta family was expected to send his remains by Wednesday to Ocala, Fla., where the actor owns a home, said Wilchcombe. Jett died while on vacation with his family in the Bahamas. He hit his head on a bathtub after suffering a seizure. (The boy had a history of having seizures.) On Sunday, Travolta and Preston released a statement thanking friends and fans for their condolences. "Jett was the most wonderful son that two parents could ever ask for and lit up the lives of everyone he encountered," they said. "We are heartbroken that our time with him was so brief. Report: Jett Travolta's Body To Be Cremated In Bahamas January 5, 2009 John Travolta and Kelly Preston are going to have the body of their son, Jett, cremated in the Bahamas, according to Radar Online. Keith McSweeney, the funeral director for Restview Mortuary, told Radar that Jett's ashes will be flown back to Florida within the next 24 hours. According to Radar, Jett's father, John, will be flying the plane carrying the ashes of his son - who died on Friday at the age of 16. Earlier in the day on Monday, it was revealed the cause of death listed on the teen's death certificate was "seizure." Although it was initially thought that Jett had died after suffering a seizure and hitting his head on the bathtub inside the bathroom of the family's residence at the Old Bahama Bay, an official at Restview reportedly told The Associated Press that Jett's body showed no signs of head trauma. Glen Campbell, the assistant director of the Bahamian funeral home, said Jett's body was in "great condition," despite police officials who had said the teen hit his head on a bathtub. The results of the autopsy performed on Monday have not been released, however, Campbell said had viewed the death certificate. "The only cause of death that was listed was 'seizure'," Campbell told the AP. It has been reported the Travolta family is planning a funeral for Jett near their home in Ocala, Florida.
