Episode 8 : Nightmare 2/3 "Yeah, so we'll a new song at each event this week?" Nick raised his eyebrows. Kevin nodded. "what do you think, Joe?" "That's cool." I agreed. I took another bite and then they continued their meal. After eating, Kevin's phone rang. He took it immediately then rushed out of the dining room. "I'll go get ready." Nick patted my shoulder and paced out of the room too, leaving me alone. I guess I'll go get ready too. I stood up from my sit and climbed upstairs, walked a few steps straight to my room. As I walked in, another irritating silence strucked my ears. I felt dizzy again. I took several steps forward to reach my iphone. I clicked one of my playlists and turned the volume to its maximum. The room was then filled with my favorite song, knocking out the provoking silence. I sat down on my bed and let a little sigh. I wondered what'd just happened last night. It was so awkward, and the whole thing seemed too serious to comprehend by my confused state. The face of the guy last night seemed familiar when I got the chance to register everything in my head. The face of someone I see on TV and magazines once in a while. Maybe a celebrity, I thought to myself. But I can't remember who. The image of Demi wincing in pain as 'that' guy tightened his grip on her arm flashed abruptly on my mind, making my body cringe in horror, as my back fell down on top of my bed. You're an idiot, I thought to myself. I groaned in pain, slapping my head with my own hands. Slapping it hardly over and over again. "What the hell?" Kevin's voice was harsh and curious as he observed my insanity. My hands were still on my face. I got startled. And pissed. "You should've knock first!" He burst into laughter. I stood up from the bed and reached for my iphone. "Yeah. That's so funny, Kev." Turning ON my sarcasm--I stopped the music player in my iphone and tossed my phone onto my bed. "That.was.so.freakin.hilarious!" He spilled out in between laughters. I rolled my eyes. There wasn't much to be done. "You.should've.seen.your.." He trailed off. The words were still in between laughters. "face!" then he laughed even louder. "Yeah.Yeah." I nodded. "I look gorgeous. I know, I know. Even in insanity." His laugh faded slowly. "Oh sure, Joe." Then he laughed his self out again. "What do you want?" I asked furiously. "OK.OK." He said holding his hands up, hiding his laugh. Still wearing his smug mask. I raised one eyebrow. "Ok, Joe." He continued, getting serious now. "I have something to tell you." "What is it?" He paced slowly towards my bed and sat on it. "It's about last night." My eyes widen. "You saw that, too?!" I gasped for air. "Yes." He admitted. "That's why I pulled you out immediately." I sighed and sat beside him on my bed. "Have you seen Demi's face?" then I groaned in pain again. "Im sorry, Joe." "Do you know who's the guy?" "Of course." He ran his fingers through his curls. "He's Alex Deleon. From The Cab, I think." "Oh." was all I could manage to exert. "Something's wrong?" "So.." I cleared my throat. "i-is Alex.. D-Demi's..-" I stuttered as I shivered at the thought. A cloud of horror and pain strucked my whole body. "Boyfriend?" He finished my sentence. "I have no idea, Joe. But Dallas called. She was sorry about last night. She said that it'll be Demi who's gon' to explain to you." His eyes narrowed. "Everything." I get it. "When?" "You'll see her at Dallas Cowboys Game on Thanksgiving." his voice was smooth. "I see." I nodded and let out a broken sigh. "Kev, Do you think..-" "Nope." He interrupted, grinning. Episode 8 : Nightmare 1/3 Settings: Joe's room, Jonas Residence; 8am Joe's POV Im not really the kind of person who regularly remembers what he had dreamt every night. I could hardly sleep at all. But last night was different. I had a terrible nightmare. It was the first time I dreamt about Demi. I was standing in this empty room. It was very dark and cold inside. Im freezing when suddenly I heard Demi's voice. She was crying in pain. I panicked. I looked everywhere to find nothing. I ran around the four-cornered room, searching. Shouting her name over and over again hoping that she would hear and finally show up. Im lacking out of air, I could hardly breathe. I couldn't run any longer. The next thing I knew I fell down on my knees, gasping for air. Shaking. Im not sure if it was because of the fear or the cold. My knees gave out, I crumpled down the black and white checkered floor. Still shaking. I held my face with my hands and felt the warm tears flowing endlessly. Im freezing, it was too cold as if I was dying. But I couldn't think of myself dying. Demi needs me now. Demi was in pain, she was crying. I need to find her. I uncovered my face and tried to stand up. When I got on my knees I fell down again. I couldn't stand anymore. And the last option I had was to call her name. "DEMI!" I cried out loud. Still shaking. I closed my eyes, shouting Demi's name again. For a second, I heard her called my name. her voice was smooth and toneless. I quickly opened my eyes widely. She was there. Standing infront of me. her face was very pale with no sign of emotion. She's still wearing the white dress. I tried to stand again but failed. She looked at me then slowly walked away. "Demi, NO!" I screamed, my voice shrugged, holding my hands up in her direction. Her eyes widen in shock and then she called my name again, this time her voice was scared and worried. It was as if she was awaken from sleep. Her pale face turned red and she was struggling very hard from someone behind her to free herself. Im useless, freezing on the floor. She was slowly being pulled backwards by someone holding her waist. She cried my name again. "JOE!.." With all the strength left, I got up on my knees, and crawled towards her sluggishly. I was panicking, shouting her name, Then all of a sudden she was gone. She was pulled away. I gasped for air--my eyelid popping wide open--the moment I realized I just woke up. I practically screamed her name out loud from my room. The bright sunlight through my window touched my skin. It was only a dream. I held my hand up on my face. I was sweating very hard. I sat up on my bed sluggishly and let out a sigh. It was only a dream, I repeated to myself. But it was the most terrifying nightmare I've ever had, the one where I have to run till my knees gave out in pain, searching for her, struggling to breath in air while freezing to death. I turned to see my alarm clock, it was already 8o'clock in the morning. I grabbed my iphone from the table and saw no new messages or missed calls. While I was staring blankly at the wallpaper of my iphone, someone knocked my door. "Honey, wake up already." "Im already awake, mom!" I looked up at the door. I placed my iphone back to its place and jumped out of the bed. I went to brush my teeth and took a warm bath. Settings: Dining Room, Jonas Residence; 9am After an hour, I took the stairs and head to the dining room. My head still feels dizzy, probably because of that nightmare. The most horrible one. I shivered from the thought. "Good morning, Joe." Nick smiled at me the second I settled down beside him, startling my dizzy mind. "Good morning, sleepyhead." Kevin snorted before I could manage to smile back to Nick. I ignored him and smiled back to my younger brother, "Good morning to you, Nick." "No 'Good morning' for me, eh?" Kevin pretended to be offended. Not very convincing though. "No, of course." I laughed at him. "Very nice, Joe. That's my bro." Nick laughed along with me. Kevin gave us a look and then sighed. "Alright boys, eat your breakfast now. Another rehearsal later for Tonight Show with Jay Leno. You'll decide what to perform. Okay?" our mom placed our breakfast on the table. "Sure, mom. We'll talk about it later." Kevin answered back politely. I started eating my meal as my two brothers followed my lead. There was an immeasurable silence. It felt awkward for the three of us, or maybe just for me. I cleared my throat breaking the stupid silence. Kevin looked up at me immediately and then back down again to his food. "So what song are we gonna perform?" I asked them. "Hmm.." Nick settled down his spoon and fork. "What song was on your mind?" "I just thought about Shelf." I trailed off. "Then Shelf it is." Kevin confirmed. "I think it was fun to change it up a bit." "Yeah, so we'll perform a new song at each event this week?" Nick raised his eyebrows.
