The body of John Travolta's 16-year-old son Jett will be cremated, a Travolta family friend told us, after a press conference on Monday evening. The press conference was held by Keith McSweeney, owner of Grand Bahama's Restview Memorial Mortuary and Crematorium, and Obie Wilchcombe, a family friend and member of the Bahamian parliament. After the conference, Wilchcombe told Us that they body was being cremated. The cremation process can take seven hours, the press conference revealed. No other new information was revealed. Earlier on Monday afternoon, a source confirmed that the autopsy on Jett revealed his death was caused by a seizure disorder. Jett's autopsy was completed Monday at the Rand Memorial Hospital in the Bahamas, though no official results -- including a cause of death -- were revealed. The boy's body was transported from the hospital to Restview Memorial on Monday afternoon after two doctors, including a U.S.-certified pathologist, performed the autopsy. (A family doctor for Travolta was also present.) The source confirms to Us that Jett was pronounced dead at 12:14 p.m. on Jan. 2. The Travolta family was expected to send his remains by Wednesday to Ocala, Fla., where the actor owns a home, said Wilchcombe. Jett died while on vacation with his family in the Bahamas. On Sunday, Travolta and Preston released a statement thanking friends and fans for their condolences. Keith McSweeney, the funeral director for Restview Mortuary, told Radar that Jett's ashes will be flown back to Florida within the next 24 hours. According to Radar, Jett's father, John, will be flying the plane carrying the ashes of his son - who died on Friday at the age of 16. Earlier in the day on Monday, it was revealed the cause of death listed on the teen's death certificate was "seizure." Although it was initially thought that Jett had died after suffering a seizure and hitting his head on the bathtub inside the bathroom of the family's residence at the Old Bahama Bay, an official at Restview reportedly told The Associated Press that Jett's body showed no signs of head trauma. Glen Campbell, the assistant director of the Bahamian funeral home, said Jett's body was in "great condition," despite police officials who had said the teen hit his head on a bathtub. The results of the autopsy performed on Monday have not been released, however, Campbell said had viewed the death certificate. "The only cause of death that was listed was 'seizure'," Campbell told the AP. It has been reported the Travolta family is planning a funeral for Jett near their home in Ocala, Florida.

Stephen Sondheim makes his comeback to the Broadway stage after years of inactivity. This time, he re-imagined his critical failure "Bounce" (who Hal Prince helmed in 2003) into a new show called "Road Show." It tells the story of Addison Mizner and his brother Wilson Mizner's adventures across America from the beginning of the 20th century during the Alaskan Gold rush to the Florida real estate boom in the 1930s. The 2008 Off-Broadway production had the opposite reaction from critics who initally disliked "Bounce" - New York Times writer Ben Brantley praised the new show, as well as the actors. He further wrote that the musical is a "trimmed-down, toughened-up and seriously darkened new edition of the musical formerly known as Bounce... the shows greatest interest for fans of Mr. Sondheim lies in seeing how what was once meant to be light and buoyant fare has been reshaped into something more somber. Jim Pepper was an American jazz saxophonist, composer, and singer of Native American ancestry. Beginning in the late 1960s, Pepper became a pioneer of fusion jazz, his band The Free Spirits (active between 1965 and 1968, with guitarist Larry Coryell) being credited as the first to combine elements of jazz and rock. His primary instrument was the tenor saxophone (he also played flute and soprano saxophone), and his characteristic incisive, penetrating tone and soulful delivery was unique for its time. A similar timbre was taken up by later players such as Jan Garbarek, Michael Brecker, and David Sanborn. Of Kaw and Creek heritage, Pepper also achieved notoriety for his compositions combining elements of jazz and Native American music. Don Cherry and Ornette Coleman encouraged Pepper to reflect his roots and heritage and incorporate it into his jazz playing and composition. His "Witchi Tai To" (derived from a peyote healing chant of the Native American Church which he had learned from his grandfather) is the most famous example of this hybrid style; the song has been covered by many other artists including Harper's Bizarre, Ralph Towner (with and without Oregon), Jan Garbarek, and Brewer Shipley. Pepper supported the American Indian Movement. He served as musical director for Night of the First Americans, a Native American self-awareness benefit concert at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. in 1980 and played also on pow-wows. Pepper was a member of the short-lived band Everything Is Everything with Chris Hills, Lee Reinoehl, Chip Baker, John Waller and Jim Zitro. Their sole album spawned the near-hit single "Witchi Tai To" (which got lots of airplay). It was issued on Vanguard Apostolic and UK Vanguard in England. In his own projects, he recorded with Cherry, Naná Vasconcelos, Collin Walcott, Kenny Werner, John Scofield, Ed Schuller, Hamid Drake, and others. His CD Comin' and Goin' (1983) is the definitive statement of Pepper's unique "American Indian jazz" with nine songs played by four different line-ups. He worked also with the Liberation Music Orchestra, Paul Motian' s quintet, Bob Moses, Marty Cook, Mal Waldron, David Friesen, and Amina Claudine Myers, and toured Europe intensively. This interview I did of a young friend at the FUNDACION OSCAR EFREN REYES in BANOS, ECUADOR. Senor Reyes's granddaughter, Rosita Maria Gonzalez, is the director of a wonderful arts program for children there. I went on a travel grant from Partners Of Americas to teach puppet making in workshops to about 120 children at Rosita's invitation. I was in this magical town with the most delightful people for such a short time but it changed my life forever. The talent and enthusiasm of these extraordinary children and adults amazed me. And though I was the "teacher" the lessons I learned from them touched my heart deeply. Their interest and kindness was simply beautiful and inspiring. I hope to return soon for a much longer time if I am so fortunate...
