In what could spark off a controversial debate, Andhra Pradesh's Human Rights Commission chairperson has said that it is time for a legislation to prosecute parents for knowingly giving birth to an unhealthy child. Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission chairperson B Subhashan Reddy has said that every child has the right to be born healthy and if it is a known health risk, parents have to take responsibility to prevent it.

Women in general, and Christian women in particular seem to face some unique threats to self esteem. I believe these self esteem problems result in a large part from the way women have been encouraged to evaluate themselves. The messages women are hearing about themselves are to say the least unflattering and often times demeaning. My small attempt here is identify those hostile messages and if there is one thing I believe God put me her it is to suggest ways to counteract their influence. The first step in waging an effective battle is to know one's enemies, and these culteral messages and forces are enemies! We as women show a great diversity in personality styles and traits. I am here not to get attention for me (Ellie) but for in fact what my heart cry is on behalf of all women. I would love to encourage an appreciation of these varying personalities by giving attention to this video and it's creative means to express my heart for women! Many temptations exist today that were'nt around even twenty years ago. But the assault upon Christian principles goes beyond simple temptations to self-indulgence. Today we compete with alternate ideologies, and it must resist hostile challenges to its most important tenets. At one point in time society accepted certain universal absolutes. Christianity and Christian principles were respected. Our forefathers were not driven to confusion by competing idealologies. So our war with trying to fitting in is that we want to be flexible and "keep up with the times" but so often the times themselves are out of step with Christian principles. Fitting in? The styles women wear today, the idealologies and philosophies are down right hostile to Christian virtues and to the men and women that adhere to to those virtues. What is deep within us feels right and what we know to be true is lost in trying to fit in. I guess I say all of this to say we need to become determined and more accepting of the fact that we are not going to nor do we want to fit in! We have to come to a place that we really are happy just being true to ourselves and our Christian principles. I say boldy and as loud as this will carry .. it is not wrong ladies to want to be beautiful, adorable and captivating. Regardless of what messages this world sends. It is however wrong to do or dress in a way that causes a God fearing man who fights the good fight to stumble. However I have had some men that are Christian go way overboard and I deem it to be one of those hostile messages that I would like to address. For example; I was leaning back in my office chair and my nine year old asked to take a picture of me. She said, Look adorable mommy! I started to laugh and said can a 42 year old look adorable? So Sitting in my coral suit I struck a pose. We laughed and it is one of my fondest memories. A Christian man wrote and said that I should not post pictures of myself lying down and he though it surprising that a woman of my years and maturity would take a pic like that. Now in his defense I could see why he thought I was laying down but the fact remains that I was not. The angle in which my nine year old daughter took the picture did give it that appearance. I did not even resent the issue being raised. I am a big girl! But when he makes comments on my being a Christian ...mature .. and my age he is .... unknowingly or knowingly insulted me as a woman of God and suddenly the issue raised is no longer my concern or focus. Rather my focus beomes that I hope both men and women will come to discern what it is that has women standing in the line of undue fire. Design a new defense to protect every aspect of your life yes! Which might include not letting His imagination run off with him as he imagined me to be laying down and what ever else. I can assure you if my mind goes to a place where it should not I will not blame you for it! Let us cultivate an unimaginable level of intimacy with the opposite sex in Christian love by coming to know the one and only lover who can and will truly satisfy your innermost desires Jesus Christ and we will not need to point our fingers at someone else for our desires going out of control. I don't want to fit in to this world ... I don't want someone to act like me or put on a me and no longer look like themselves. I don't want a man who is not my husband to desire me or lust after me and so therefore I would not intentionally do anything that would encourage that. But I can tell you I do want to be beautiful in the eyes of God! I do want to be adorable and come out before those I truly can trust and say Tada! Man does not define me! I have the identity of Christ whether they see it or not. I will not be discouraged under man's viewpoint of me when I know his viewpoint is no where near the truth! Giving my whole heart to God is my focus and if in that I am adorable ... well praise God that God has blessed your sister in that way! As serious as I was making this it was meant to be playful!

The Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip represent severe and massive violations of international humanitarian law as defined in the Geneva Conventions, both in regard to the obligations of an Occupying Power and in the requirements of the laws of war. Those violations include: • Collective punishment: The entire 1.5 million people who live in the crowded Gaza Strip are being punished for the actions of a few militants. • Targeting civilians: The airstrikes were aimed at civilian areas in one of the most crowded stretches of land in the world, certainly the most densely populated area of the Middle East. • Disproportionate military response: The airstrikes have not only destroyed every police and security office of Gaza's elected government, but have killed and injured hundreds of civilians; at least one strike reportedly hit groups of students attempting to find transportation home from the university. Earlier Israeli actions, specifically the complete sealing off of entry and exit to and from the Gaza Strip, have led to severe shortages of medicine and fuel (as well as food), resulting in the inability of ambulances to respond to the injured, the inability of hospitals to adequately provide medicine or necessary equipment for the injured, and the inability of Gaza's besieged doctors and other medical workers to sufficiently treat the victims. Certainly the rocket attacks against civilian targets in Israel are unlawful. But that illegality does not give rise to any Israeli right, neither as the Occupying Power nor as a sovereign state, to violate international humanitarian law and commit war crimes or crimes against humanity in its response. I note that Israel's escalating military assaults have not made Israeli civilians safer; to the contrary, the one Israeli killed today after the upsurge of Israeli violence is the first in over a year. Israel has also ignored recent Hamas diplomatic initiatives to re-establish the truce or ceasefire since its expiration on December 26. The Israeli airstrikes today, and the catastrophic human toll that they caused, challenge those countries that have been and remain complicit, either directly or indirectly, in Israel's violations of international law. That complicity includes those countries knowingly providing the military equipment including warplanes and missiles used in these illegal attacks, as well as those countries who have supported and participated in the siege of Gaza that itself has caused a humanitarian catastrophe. I remind all Member States of the United Nations that the UN continues to be bound to an independent obligation to protect any civilian population facing massive violations of international humanitarian law--regardless of what country may be responsible for those violations.
