A few images of other worlds. I love going to diners in the middle of the night, when the only people on shift are middle-aged women with mysterious ailments and nicotine additions. I love eating pie, and ignoring the many possible health code violations. I want to learn blues guitar. Everything smells better at night. Tom Waits is my unofficial mentor. [ Dreaming in Technicolor ] I dream in technicolor Images of other worlds Angels and serpents Swapping stories over coffee At the diner of the soul I'm dreaming in widescreen Pictures from the Great Depression Tales that redefine my meaning And the waitress calls: "Morals with a side of guilt And ethics over easy A tall glass of soul And some deep fried spirit" I dream in technicolor Thunder burning in my brain Flame and lightning in my eyes I find shelter from the storm Beneath the wood and steel At the diner of the soul I'm dreaming, I'm sleeping awake This is the Great Confession The dishonest give and take And the waitress calls: "Morals with a side of guilt And ethics over easy A tall glass of soul And some deep fried spirit" I dream in technicolor Of lonely hotel holidays Of open roads, of tired bones How all these houses were never homes I stumble from a hundred highways Into the diner of the soul I pick a booth, strike up a talk With an assassin from New Jersey He tells about the great untruths How love is cheap, but lust is free And the waitress calls: "Morals with a side of guilt And ethics over easy A tall glass of soul And some deep fried spirit" Steve Skafte © 2009 (Berserker)

A very jazzy number Paul wrote many years ago.The lyrics are from a song that I wrote 15 years ago called all you crazy people and a poem I wrote a month ago.Cuz died in Oct.08' but before he died he put together two cassette tapes and gave them to me.All of the music on my page was written by my cuz Paul.I wrote all of the lyrics.He was very bad the last year of his life, and has heard none of these songs he ask me to make two years ago when he could still play the guitar.I think he would like them.
