CHAPTER 1!!! (= First day of school in Audrey's P.O.V It started on a Tuesday, first day of sophomore year. I wasn't too thrilled about going back to school. Boring teachers, boring classes, nothing new ever happened. At least I had Mason and Regina to share my pain. As we walked through the entrance of Greenleaf high, the air-conditioned halls, the cold tan floor, the green metal lockers, it all felt so...normal. Mason walked off to be with his friends, while Regina and I headed to our own lockers. We checked our schedules, discovering we had nothing together except lunch. Damn it. I cautiously opened my empty locker and loaded in the semester's textbooks. The halls suddenly flooded with students and small talk, hugs and high-fives. The day was just beginning, and I already wanted to go home. "Did you hear about the new kids?" Regina asked me with a smile. The word "new" was the only thing that caught my attention. School was suddenly getting a lot better. "N-new k-kids?" I stuttered. "New kids...here?" "Yeah! Three brothers: Kevin, Joe, and Nick. Kevin's a senior, in Mason's class, and Joe and Nick are in our grade. They're extremely hot, get bad grades, and are always searching for a girl to mess around with. All the girls fall for them." She informed me. Damn, how did she know all this? "Well, one thing's for sure." I started. "I am NOT falling for one of those fucktards." I closed my locker to see Regina in complete shock, her mouth wide open. I followed her gaze, and spotted the three new students. They walked the halls as if they owned the school already. But even I had to admit...they were HOT! The guys in the hall paid no attention to them, while most of the girls smiled and squealed. As they passed by me and Regina, I noticed the youngest curly-haired boy checking out my sister. "That's Nick." Regina whispered to me, smiling and biting her lip. She looked completely dazed and almost...love struck. Before I could try and snap some sense into her, the boy with the straight hair looked my way. I almost fell over when our eyes met. My stomach filled with butterflies, my breathing quickened, and, when he flashed me a small smirk, my heart skipped a beat. He didn't look old enough to be a senior, so I figured this one was Joe. "Th...thats Joe?" I asked my sister, and she nodded. The three continued walking down the hall, as the first period bell rang. I completely shook all thoughts of him out of my mind, regaining my composure. It was time for the part of the day I was dreading. Regina and I went our separate ways and headed for class. I looked down at the small schedule in my hands. First period...Language Arts. I slowly walked inside the big classroom, one minute to spare. The teacher, Mrs. Taylor, greeted me welcomingly and showed me my assigned seat. I said hi to a few friends and we talked about each other's summers until Mrs. Taylor closed the door, signaling that class had begun. Almost as quickly as the door closed, it flung open again. In walked the cause of my fluttering heart, and the reason I almost fell out of my seat, Joe Jonas. Then, it hit me. Was I falling for the bad boy? I tried so hard to convince myself I wasn't, but, truth be told, I was. But I couldn't let him or the rest of the school know that. "Nice of you to join us, Mister Jonas." Mrs. Taylor scolded his almost tardiness. "Its Joe." He said, checking out the teacher and biting his lip. "Hey, are you free tonight?" He asked flirtatiously. Seriously, hitting on a teacher? "Im married." She replied, annoyance in her voice. He continued to check her out, a hopeful look still on his face, and obviously not caring about the fact she had a husband. "So are you or what?" She sighed as the rest of the class laughed at his attempt. "Just take your seat. Next to...Miss Marshall." I was NOT expecting that. My jaw dropped. "WHAT!?" I yelled, completely in shock. "Audrey Madeleine Marshall!" I shuddered at the sound of my full name. "Is there a problem?" I took one look at Mrs. Taylors upset face and Joe's smirking face, and realized there was no winning this time. "No, Ma'am." I sighed as Joe walked over to his seat next to mine. He plopped his books onto the table and didnt even bother opening them when Mrs. Taylor began the lesson. He leaned against the wall, and I felt his eyes burning against me. I hid my face behind my dark auburn curls and doodled absently on the margins of my paper. I couldn't help but glance at him involuntarily. His amazingly toned body, strong arms, a smile that made you melt, beautiful chocolate eyes, and his perfectly messy hair. Irony within itself? I think not. My thoughts began to wander.
